Sewing and Knitting

Upper Michigan was my home as a child and it was there, as a member of 4-H, that I first began sewing. Around the same time I started sewing, my Grandmother, who saw my enthusiasm, taught me to knit. When I grew up, I sewed and knitted custom designs for my five daughters and eventually my grandchildren, designed sewing totes for a community in Ohio and hand sewed costumes for historical re-enactors.

Basket Weaving

Growing up, my parents were masters of the old arts of wood carving, furniture making, wood crafts, spinning and quilting as well as sewing and knitting. In 1984, my Mother and I took a class in basket weaving and I was hooked. I continued with it, creating many custom designs including one for an antique style Saint Nick and one for flower and herb growers and I went on to teach basket weaving at the local college and at craft stores. The continues these many years now with new (and old ) designs and teaching my joy of weaving with others.
